FATAL SNAKE BITE.

A little boy named Armit, 8 years of age, whose parents reside at Inverary, near Bun-gonia, was bitten near the ankle by a tiger snake on Thursday, at 4 o'clock, while crossing a paddock barefooted with his mother. He was taken to Goulburn after the wound had been scarified and a ligature applied, but though strychnine and other remedies were applied, the boy died at half past 8.

CONSPIRACY TO DEFRAUD.

Arther P. Little and Ernest H. Little, on remand, were charged at the Central Police Court today with conspracy to defraud the Australian Joint Stock Bank of divers large sums of money. It was stated that further matters in connection with the case would necessitate the examination ot the bank's books at Newcastle, and the accused were remanded until Friday

CHARGES AGAINST A SOLICITOR

The Full Court this afernoon granted a rule tim, returnable in a fortnight, calling upon Alfred Hale, a solictor, to answer an affidavit containing certain serious charges.

A LOST CHILD

A little gir1, 4 years of age, daughter of a selector named Michael Kerwin, at Colinrubie, strayed into the mallee scrub on Tuesday last, and has not been seen since. The residents and police have been searching for the child for three days.

A SUDDEN DEATH.

The wife of a farmer named Patrick Cullen died suddenly about noon yesterday at their residence, The Square, three miles from Blaney. A considerable amount of excitement was created in the town for some two hours after the occurrence, through so many conflict-

ing accounts being brought in. Dr Griffiths had been sent out, and on his return he stated that tho woman had the appearance of having died from heart disease. An inquest on the body was held today, and the medical testi-

mony showed that the cause of death was failure of the heart's action.
