LANG PARK FOR CLUB MATCHES Invitation to N.S.W.

At a meeting of the Queensland Soccer Council, held last night, it was decided to invite tenders from Brisbane Senior clubs for the use of the newly-acquired

Lang Park as a home ground for the B.D.F.A. competition fixtures. The tenders will be received during today, and a decision will be made by the management committee on to-morrow or Monday night. Subject to the visit of an Australian team being arranged, the Q.S.C. Is ex-tending an Invitation to New South Wales to visit Queensland during the second and third weeks in May. An application for affiliation received from Bundaberg was granted, and its representative, Mr. W. E. Green, was wel-comed to the Q.S.C. Bundaberg has ex-pressed its willingness to participate ln a triangular inter-city home-and-home com-petition with Ipswich and Brisbane. Ips-which has also signified its willingness to participate. The cup and medals will be presented only for a triangular contest. The management committee of the Q.S.C. was elected as follows: President. Dr. T. P. Fry; treasurer, Mr. A. W. Bugler; secre-tary, Mr. N. V. Stock; representative of North Queensland, Mr. H. Read; repre-sentative of Bundaberg, Mr. W. Elson-Green. The Primary Schools' Soccer Association has been invited to meet the Q.S.C. in conference to discuss school football. During the week-end the management committee is to consult with the secre-taries of the B.D.F.A. and the West Moreton Football Association for' the purpose of drawing up a tenta-tive programme of inter-district and Inter-State matches for the season and to discuss whether the Tristram Shield com-petition shall or shall not be held this year. The Q.S.C. takes the attitude that it would bo unfair to conduct tho com-petition for the oldest and most prized trophy in the soccer world in September, at a time when the leading players of Brisbane and Ipswich will bo touring North Queensland. As the B.D.F.A dele-gates have insisted on the completion not only of the premiership but also of the Hilton Shield competition prior to tho playing of the Tristram Shield com-petition there is a possibility of the competition lapsing this year unless the B.D.F.A. decision is reversed.
