MR. A. V. KEWNEY RESIGNS

21, Years Secretary Of V.R.C. MELBOURNE, June 7.

Mr. A. V. Kewney today resigned as secretary of the Victoria Racing Club, alter having served in that capacity for 21 years.

The committee of the club, announc-ing Mr. Kewney's resignation, said that he had acted as the club's secretary with unremitting zeal and outstanding ability since his appointment in 1925. and it wished publicly to acknowledge the debt due to him by the VRC and by Australian racing. The club had obtained his con-sent to continue in office until the appointment of a successor. Before being appointed secretary of the VRC., Mr. Kewney. who Is 74. was secretary of the Kalgoorlie Turf Club and the SAJC.
