THE SEPARATION QUESTION.

LETTER FROM THE DELEGATES.

[By Electric Telegraph.]

(From our own correspondent.)

Rockhampton, June 24.

Messrs. Archer and Ferguson, writing from London under date 18th May to the Executive Committee of the Central Separation League on the subject of the interview with Lord Knuts- ford, say: "The conclusions we have come to after hearing Lord Knutsford on the subject of separation are that personally he is favourable to Sir S. W. Griffith's provincial district resolutions, and would prefer that they and a bill founded on them were carried in the Queensland Legislative Assembly; but that should the Queensland Assembly refuse through a Southern majority to pass a bill giving, effect to the resolutions introduced by Sir S. W. Griffith, he would have to advise   that the Home Government should step in, which would probably result in separation being granted. As you will see by his speech, he expects the question, to be thrashed out and settled in the present session of the Queens-land Parliament. The delegates also say they do not intend to return to Queensland im-mediately.
