Compensation Apportioned

Pope Products. Ltd., of Robert street. Croydon, having paid £122 10/ into court, the sum agreed to be paid as compensation to Audrey Merle Ben-

nett, 18, of Princess street, Croydon, who received jniuries in the course of her employment as a press hand by the co- respondent. Mr. L. H. Haslam, S.M. at the Adelaide Local Court yesterday

made the following directions as to its apportionment:—£2 4/ to be paid to Ruby Eva Bennett, the applicant's mother, for out-of-pocket expenses and maintenance. 6. to the Adelaide Hos-piral. £2 2/ for costs of the application, and £5 to the applicant for immediate expenses, the balance to be invested by the Public Trustee until the applicant reached the age of 21 years. The apportionment was made under the Workmens Compensation Act: The injuries, received on Juiy 23. for which the compensation was paid, consisted of the loss of the two joints of the middle finger of the right hand, and of one joint of the index finger of the same hand. Mr. L. B. Mathews appeared for the Public Trustee.
