ARCHER.—On the 14th January, 1889, at Coul House,

Ross-shire, Scotland, the wife of James Archer, of a

son.

CLARK.—On the 8th January, 1889, at her residence,

Duke-street, Balmoral, the wife of George Clark, of a

son.

HOBSON.—On the 10th January, 1889, at Waverley,

Toowoomba, the wife of W. D . Hobson, of Cairns, of

a son.

LINDON.—On the 12th January, 1889, at Thorn-street,

Kangaroo Point, the wife of Edward B. Lindon, of a

son.

WEBSTER.—On the 12th January, 1889, at Whinstanes,

Eagle Farm, the wife of A. B Webster, of a daughter.

MARRIAGES.

OLSON—ROGERS.—On the 19th December, 1888, at

St. John's Pro-cathedral, by the Rev. F. J. Abe, Magnus Olson, of West End, to Mary, only daughter of the late Mr. John Rogers, of Hill End, South

Brisbane.

SWAN—MEIKLE.—On the 10th January, 1889, at the

residence of the bride's mother, by the Rev. W. Whale, Hon. James Swan, M.L.C., of Brisbane, to Christina, eldest daughter of the late Thomas Meikle, of Brisbane.

DEATH.

MORTIMER.—On the 4th January, 1889, at Manum-

bar Station, David Mortimer, third son of the late William Mortimer, of Knockenbaird, Aberdeenshire and brother of the late John Mortimer, proprietor of Manumbar Station for 35 years.

IN MEMORIAM.

HELMOOD.—John Henry Helmood, departed this

life 16th of January, 1887.
