Suggested Fauna Reserve For South Australia

Descriptions of the flora growing in Central Australia along the Alice Springs line were given by Mr. E.H. Ising before the Field Naturalists' Sec-

tion of the Royal Society at the annual meeting, and many specimens were shown. Mr. Ising visited Macumba station, where in the summer this year the temperature averaged 111 degrees for 50 days. A suggestion was put forward by Mr. B. B. Beck that an Australian fauna reserve, similar to that in Victoria, be established in South Australia. The matter win be taken up bv the fauna and flora protection committee. Mr. E. H. Isuir was re-elected president, and the following were also elected:—Vice-presidents. Mr. W. A: Harding and Lieut.-Col. D. Fulton: secretary, Mr. E. V. Dicks; assistant secretary. Mr. L. Reynolds: treasurer. Miss M. Roeser.
