WALSH-PITMAN MEMORIAL PREPARATION IN PERTH. Perth. Sept 19. Preparations are now in hand for the erection of a police memorial in honour of the late Detective In-spector Walsh and Detective Pit-man, the victims of the illcit treaters of stolen gold. The monu-ment is being made in Italy and should arrive shortly. Meanwhile a fence is being removed from this front of the central arch of the police barracks in James street where the memorial will be erected and the erection of a base rock face of granite is being proceeded with.
