THE DESERT PROSPECTING SYNDICATE. An enterprising band of prospec-tors, backed by a syndicate of local business people, intend to leave Kalgoorlie early next week for a

belt of country 150 miles north-east of Pingin, which the party penetrated fifteen months ago but were driven out again owing to lack of water. The expedition includes Messrs. P. Moller (leader), H. Thompson, T. F. Thompson, W. Sparnon and J. F. Carrington. Twelve camels loaned by the Government will be used for transport purposes. The syndicate is divided into 56 shares of £15 each, and over 50 shares have been taken up; the prospectors taking 15: Three directo0rs Messrs. W. Stewart, C. Sawyer and W. J. Tooney, have been elected and Mr. B. Leslie has been appointed secretary.
