SOUTH BRISBANE.
ALDERMANIC ELECTION.
TO THE RATEPAYERS OF THE SOUTH
BRISBANE WARD.
GENTLEMEN-In term of office as Alderman
for the South Ward having nearly expired, I again place my services at your disposal at the forthcoming Election, feeling assured in my own mind that the various improvements which have been effected in this portion of the Municipality through me, with the assistance of my colleague, Alderman Payne, will speak favourably to my continuous efforts to obtain a fair and judicious expenditure of the funds at the disposal of the Council.
It has often been urged against me that I give a silent vote, but I can conscientiously state that no vote of mine has been given without a knowledge of that which I asked for would be carried and on all general questions minutes of proceedings will show that I have ever been in favour of those calculated to prove of permanent benefit to the city. If it be your pleasure to reelect me I can but give my sincere promise to use all my influence towards the advancement of South Brisbane, the more especially as subjects of vital importance to this ward are likely to occupy the attention of the council during the forthcoming year-namely, railway extension, tramways, and, not the least, a system of drainage.
If elected I shall be always accessible to my constituents, and to the best of my ability endeavour to carry out their suggestions, provided they represent a reasonable and practicable re-quirement Yours respectfully,
1054 JOHN GRAHAM.
