BROAD ARROW NOTES Broad Arrow, April 20. Owing to the continued drought, and the consequent hindrance to the progress of mining development in this district, the Broad Arrow District Roads Board has decided to have petitions sent around urging the extension of a branch pipe line from the Goldfields Water Scheme to Ora Banda via Paddington, Broad Arrow, Bardoc, and Cashman's. The 42-mile tank having given out, Ora Banda and Gimlet residents are compelled to get their water from Waverley, where the quantity is very limited, and in a few weeks those centres will have to be supplied from Broad Arrow. Canvassers with petitions will be in the Ora Banda districts on Sat,urday and Sunday next. Dr. C. R. Merrillees, who has been in charge of the local hospital for' 'some eight months, leaves at the I I end of the month for Kerang, in Vic. toria, where he has a practice. Much regret is expressed at his intended departure, as during his short. stay he has by his kindness become verym popular. Dr. J. McCall, of Kalgoorlie. has been appointed medical officer, and commences his duties on the 29th inst,
