A United Country Party.

MELBOURNE, Sept. 23.— Between 300 and 400 delegates from the Victorian Country Party/ and the Country Progressive Party decided at a conference to-day

that the two organisations should amalgamate into one party to be known as the United Country Party. This decision, the culmination of negotiations between the members .of the parties extending over several years, has to be submitted to the branches for ratification.
