THE WEST AUSTRALIAN, CUDDING-

WARRA.

Specimens of great value have been re-ceived at the Bank of Australia in, Perth, from Amphlet and Keating's West Australian mine at Cuddingwarra, on the Murchison. The quartz is a rich brown and shows that the walls are well defined. The reef is said to be two and a half feet wide and is good battery stone throughout. The specimens were well marked with gold, a portion of the

stone showing the yellow metal through the stone, whilst other pieces attempted to be

cracked were held together by gold. The shaft is stated to be down to the water level,

about fifty feet, and a drive of over 200 feet

has been opened.
