YUND AM1NDERA. Yundamindera, May 7. With the exception of a few small tribute parties the Potosi Consolidated Company has practically ceased mining operations, want of funds apparently being the cause. This is -to be regretted, as acres of ore-bearing country remain untested. The Government Huntingdon mill was closqd down at a minute's notice last week, the experiment proving too costly. This action was very unjust and cruel to the prosnectors, as there are over 400 tons of ore at grass and booked to be crushed; from the Maori Queen 150 tons, Bonaparte 200 tons, Just in 'Time 100 tons. The Mines Department have promised that an inspector shall, visit the district and report as to the prospects of the mines justifying the erection of an up-todate stamper mill; but as this means months of wearyv waiting, it is just possible that if terms can be arranged the prospectors will crush at the Potosi Company's battery.
