GREAT EASTERN HIGHWAY.

The Greenmount Road Board, at a meeting on Thursday, decided to adopt the name of the Great Eastern Highway for the main road which passes through its

district trom Perth to the Eastern Gold-fields. The secretary was instructed to write to the Main Roads Department re-questing it to have the name gazetted in the board's area and in the districts to-wards the goldfields. The board also decided that the small section of the old York-road, near Log Cabin, should be named Throssell-cres-cent in honour of the late Captain Hugo Throssell. V.C., the name to be subject to Mrs. Throssell's approval.
