FROM GOLD TO SHEEP.

In connexion with the article 'From Gold to Sheep,' published in 'The West Australian' of June 1, Mr. W. H. C. Halford, of Halford and Sons. Credo station.

Kalgoorhe, writes: — 'I have not the figures by me for 1930, except for the first shearing, 7,269 sheep for 199 bales of wool pressed and branded by the shearing team. The balance of stragglers and lambs were shorn later and considerably increased the total. For 1932 we shore about 10,000 sheep for 300 and odd bales, and in 1933 ?we shore about the same number and sold 309 bales, 12 bales being scoured. From here to Wiluna the sheep are big, with heavy fleeces, and most cut. from 28 to 30 bales per thousand. ? On Credo we depend on dams, but from Menzies on all stations depend on wells. This year is our tenth with sheep?'
