The Guildford Municipal Council, at a meeting on Thursday night, reciived a letter from the Bassendean Road Board requesting the council's oninion as t.i flip

desirability of naming the main road via the Mt. Lawley subway through to Alidland Junction, 'The Great Eastern Highway.' The Town Clerk (Mr. L. Gibbons) said that the names of several streets' in Guildford would have to be altered if the suggestion was adopted. He explained that the main road from Mt.
