Mr. J. Aitken received a letter from Mr. Walter Nairn, by the eastward mall yesterday, stating that gold bas been discovered on the Byro plain, by a man named Fredred, who has some splendid specimens.

[The Byro plain is situated at the head of the Upper Worramel, which takes its rise in the Watershed of the Gascoyne and the Murchi son rivers, near the point where the tribu taries of the Gascoyne, Murchison, and Worramel almost meet ] .
