BULDANIA. BULDANIA, January 18. The Buldania goldfields are 21 miles north-east of Norseman, and about 14 leases have been taken up here. This field - .vas discovered in June, 1896. -Its progress has been slow owing to. the hard nature of the country and the entire absence of the capital of companies to develop its resources. The prospectors have had a hard battle to struggle along. This field has a striking resemblance to the Boulder country at-Kalgoorlie, with this distinction that the trend of the big dyke here is nearly east and west. All the reefs and lodes are vertical, and the lode matter is of the type of the Kalgoorlie mines. Some of the sulphides here are very rich, and assays have gone as high as 70oz of gold per ton. Some ore from the lodes here that was not showing any visible gold was quite recently assayed by the Gold Recovery Company, Kalgoorlie, the result being' from one 41t body of stuff 150o 6dwt 2gr, and from another 2ft reef 10oz 18dwt..l2gr per ton. There are sulphides here-of low .value, but there is compensation for this in the large quantity of high grade ore. The only milling facility this field has is a Saunders' Rapid Ore Crusher, five miles distant at the lake, with no pans or oyanide. . The best crushing results have been 80z per ton, and the tailings have assayed as high 'as 2oz lldwt per ton. The sul-phide zone seems to live very near the surface, aad that makes the struggle to the prospectors. so much the, greater. The time will come when this district will be an important factor a~a gold producer in this country. The prospeetors must give way to companies backed up with capital, and the wealth of this field will be conserved and assured.
