MISCELLANEOUS SHIPPING

The barque Prompt, 767 tons, Captain Nicholson arrived in this port on the 1st instant, with immi-grants from Liverpool, which port she left on the 5th of March. She brings 96 male adults; 68 fe-male ditto, 42 children, and 8 infants ; and are as follows, viz :-10 married men, 25 ditto women, 78 single men, 42 ditto women, 23 male children, 19 female ditto, 5 male infants, 3 female ditto ; of the above, 77 adults, 22 children, 3 infants, are Eng-lish ; 89 adults, 20 children, 4 infants, are Irish ; making a total of 214 souls, the whole of whom have arrived in good health ; during the voyage 3 births and 2 deaths have taken place. The names of the immigrants will be found in our shipping, aud the parties to whom they have ar-rived in our advertising columns,

The City of Hobart left the wharf a little after one p.m. yesterday, with an unusual large number of cabin and steerage passengers for Melbourne.

The Mariposa, schooner, Croucher, of this port, put in at Launceston on the 28th ult., from stress

of weather.

The English mail of the 16th May, will be due at Melbourne on Sunday next, and may be looked for at Launceston on the arrival of the Black Swan, due on the 8th instant.
