A BOILER EXPLOSION.

TWO MEN KILLED.

HOBART, May 16.

From Zeehan comes news of a terrific

boiler explosion, which occurred there this morning, when the boiler of the North-east Dundas tram line locomotive, which was about to start on the usual journey, exploded. The locomotive was completely wrecked, and two men named David Bedelph, the engine driver, and Thomas Marra, the stoker, were killed. Marra was found dead, but Bedelph lived for a couple of hours. Both were dreadfully mangled. If the train had reached a siding a few chains away the consequences would have been more serious, as there were several passengers on board. Many narrow es-capes are recorded, but beyond the two men who met with their death nobody was

hurt.
