Country High Schools' Week.

The annual sports week of the Country High Schools began yesterday, the competing schools being Northam, Albany, Bunbury, and Eastern Goldfields. Foot

ball, hockey, and athletics are the sports to be contested and the school obtaining the best aggregate will hold for the year a cup which-has been presented for competition. The The first round of the football matches was played at Perth Oval, Bunbury beat- ing Northam, 15.10 to 2.4, and Eastern Goldfields defeating Albany by 16.11 to 4.4. At the Teachers' Training College Albany beat Eastern Goldfields, 10 goals to nil at hockey, Peggy Hillman hitting eight goals. The programme for the week is:— To-day. — Football: 10.15 a-m., Albany v. Bunbury at Leederville Oval; 2.30. p.m., Northam v. Goldfields, at Leederville Oval. Hockey: 10.15 a.m., Goldfields v. Northam; 3 p.m., Bunbury v. Albany, at the Esplanade. Wednesday. — Football: 10.15 a.m., Goldfields v. Bunbury;. 2.30 p.m., Northam v. Albany, at Leederville Oval Hockey: 10.15, Northam v.
