GENERAL RATE FOR 1897.
NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of the Council held in the Council Chamber, Town Hall, on TUESDAY, 15th day of December, 1896, a General Rate of ONE SHILLING AND FIVEPENCE IN THE POUND for the year 1897 was declared on all the ratable property within the limit of the Municipality, and ordered to be payable at the expiration of 14 days after the publication of such notice in accordance with section 164 of 59 Vic, No. 10.
And notice is hereby given that at the same meeting of the Council, the following Special Rates for the year 1897 were declared, viz., One-Eighth of Penny in the Pound for Loan No. 1 One Half-Penny in the Pound for Loan No. 4, Seven-Eighths of Penny in the Pound for Loan No. 6, and a Health Rate of One Penny in the Pound, making a total of 5d. in the Pound, Special rate for the year 1897.
