AS SCENE OF FIRST COLOUR FILM

SYDNEY, Sunday

Arrangements have been made to produce; Australia's first col-our film, a spokesman for Charles Chauvel Production, Ltd. announced today.

The spokesman said the film with an all-Australian cast would present the life and drama of the Northern Territory.

The film will be named "Jedda."

Part of the, technical crew leaves Sydney tomorrow for Darwin. The remainder of the company will leave on Wednesday.

Mr. Chauvel said the cameras Were going ahead of schedule be cause of the drought conditions in Northern Territory.

"They are going ahead to show how the people are fighting the drought in dramatic contrast with life in prosperous seasons,

he said

So far, an aborigine girl has not been selected to play the leading part of "Jedda."

Ten aborigine girls are await-ing film tests in Sydney while other candidates will be interviewed in Cunnamulla, Charleville Blackall, Barcaldine, Longreach, Winton and Cloncurry.

Acting sequences in the film will not be shot until July.
