It ls hereby notified for general Information that, ol «nd after a date to be advertised later, during the carrying out of dredging operations in the Fairway at the entrance to the port of Newcastle, thc use of thc present White Fairway Tower (which shows a red light) will be discontinued. A temporary steel lattice-work Beacon will bc erected and used in its stead on thc same bearing (N. 42 degrees E Magnetic) in a position 030 feet from the lied Fairway Tower (which shows a white light). This temporary Beacon will have a circular Tower painted white erected there-on, and the light exhibited-from it will be similar in every respect to the one now shown, with the differ-ence that the leading Towers will have an Increased dis-tance between them, thereby enabling Masters of vessel« to judge more accurately their distance from the Fair-way line when passing the dredge plant at work.
