DEATH OF ROSE DAMPIER.

—*—

Mr. Alfred Rolfe, at one time leading man in the late Alfred Dampier's Company, has re-ceived news by cable from America of the death of Miss Rose Dampier, who passed away at Falls City (Nebraska) whilst touring. The deceased actress first appeared on the stage in Sydney as a child with her sister Lily (Mrs. Rolfe), and supported her father for a number of years, at first as second to Miss Lily Dampier, but eventually in leading parts, amongst which her Ophelia will be re-membered. The only surviving son (Fred) of this theatrical family is now in the United

States, Miss Dampier was unmarried at the time of her death.
