DELETIONS ORDERED ' BEFORE ENGLISH RELEASE,

Columbia Pictures have received a cable irom London stating that the English censoi has ordered deletions from "Rangle River" before this film can be shown in Great Britain "Rangle River" was made In Sydney last year, with Victor Jory heading the cast. At the close of thc story, there was a lively duel between thc hero (Mr. Jory) and thc villain (played by Cecil Perry), In which ooth men lashed at each other with stockwhips. Though rather violent in action, these scenes gave a dramatically effective climax to the play

The English censor's decision concerning ;'Rangle River" follows closely on an order that several excisions must be made in "Orphan of the-Wllderness" before the English public could see this Cinesound film. In « statement Issued yesterday, Columbia says that these two episodes are "giving rise to thc idea among local film authorities whether Australian productions are wanted or not in England." ^_
