GERMANS GAOLED
FOR ATROCITIES
PARIS, Tuesday.
Two Germans who ran a con-centration camp for French Jews in the Channel Island of Alder-ley during the war, were sent to prison to-day for their cruel
treatment of prisoners.
They were Heinrich Adler (10 years' sentence), described as "a drunken sadist incapable of any human feeling," and Adam Ev-ers (seven years' sentence), a "furious epileptic."
Leon Kartun, noted French pianist, who was a prisoner in the camp, said Evers once burned a sack of letters from home before the eyes of the prisoners.
Another witness said Evers
blow his jaw with kicks.
