THE MONTACUTE COPPER-MINE.

The copper-mine, purchased from the Government on Friday last, is now, we hear, in full work, and by the time this is in the hands of our numerous subscribers, the proprietors, Messrs Hagen, Hart,

and Baker, will, it is said, be likely to have repaid themselves the greater part of the purchase-money. Already they advertise for the conveyance of from fifty to one hundred tons of the ore to Port Ade-laide; and, considering its price in London, £22 per ton, double this quantity would more than cover the amount of purchase-money, with all the charges of mining, carriage, and freight. The ar-rangements made with the Cornish miners for working it are, we understand, very liberal. A few days at farthest will enable us to speak more in detail upon this subject. In the meantime, we have only to join in the general congratulations of our fellow-colonists towards the fortunate purcha-sers, and in the generally expressed wish, that their success may equal their most sanguine expectations.
