h Australian Associated Press

i ^EWAKfl Mon.-Messrs. Chips Rafferty and

Lee Robinson arrived at Wewak on Satur-day atter making a survey of the Middle Sepik Kiver by launch in search of a location for their projected film.

ÍMr. Robinson said they had I

; found a most satisfactory loca-

tion at Kambaramba, a typical] Sepik River village group on a

swamp lagoon.

He and Mr. Rafferty would . be returning to the area at the j, end of July with a cast and a % technical crew of 40.

tiMr. Robinson said: "When we

came to New Guinea we hoped to find material for more than

. one film.

1 "After having seen the filrr material available we will de-finitely bring up a permanen unit, and, with a base some » where in New Guinea or Papua Í "will make several films, whicl

g should take two or thre

i years "

Messrs. Robinson and Raf-ferty, who are directors . of Southern International Films, left Madang on Saturday. Later, they will visit the highlands to study potential film locations there.

The film they intend making in the Sepik area is to be based on an administration patrol.

Kambaramba people living in houses built on high stilts on the fringe of their swamp lagoon will-be featured. They very rarely see dry land. In] the wet season, when -the water is high, they move from their homes straight into their dugout canoes, which arei , moored below.
