r ONDON, Fri.-Top men in Mr. Churchill's shadow Cabinet

got home safely today when counting of votes was re-sumed. They included Sir David Maxwell-Fyfe, tipped as Labour Minister, and Mr. Robert S. Hudson, former Minister

for Agriculture.

Slr Iain Fraser, the blind Con-servative member for More-cambe and Lonsdale, held, his seat with a majority of 17,000 over Labour.

Tory shadow Cabinet mem-bers and former Ministers, Mr. Oliver Lyttelton in Alder-shot, and Mr. B. A. Butler in Saffron Walden, were both re-elected. '

The Labour Party chairman, Miss Alice Bacon, who is at present ill in bed, was re-elected for Leeds North-East.

The former . Conservative Minister and shadow Cabinet member, Mr. Harofld Macmillan was re-elected in Bramley.

With the election of Messrs. Lyttelton and Butler this means Mr. Churchill's ttoee top sha-dow Caibinet members have been returned.

Mr. Butler, who was Minister for Education in tine wartime Government, is considered the

i Mr. Butler is the party's chief I Commonwealth expert. He is

considered certain for a top Ca'binet post.

Mr. Lyttelton is expected to be Chancellor of the Exchequer. In the wartime Government he was President of the BoaTd of Trade.

Mr. . Macmillan, a senior ! member of the shadow Cabinet,

' is candidate for the Colonial Secretaryship. He was Air Secretary in Mr. Churchill's ! 1ÍM5 caretaker Government.

Australian-born Conservátive Mr. W J. Heyting was beaten 'by the retiring Labour candiddate Mr. S. Janner in Leicester North-west.

Dr. Hugh Dalton, a former Chancellor of the Exchequer and recently Minister for Local Government and Planning, was re-elected in Durham.,

Mr. Dingle Foot, Liberal, brother of Mr. Michael Foot, who defeated Mr. Randolph Churchill, lost to a Conservative in Cornwall North.
