GERMAN HANGED BY

FIRST PRISONER

PRAGUE, Thursday.

Women survivors from Lidice were among the crowd of 5,000 which watched the public hanging of Karl Hermann Frank, the former protect-or" of Bohemia.

Frank's last words were: "Germany must live, even if I die."

The hangman was the first man imprisoned by the Gestapo in Prague and spent a long term in Oraniemburg prison.
