America's southern Missis-

sippi district during the days leading to the Civil War is tofd .with great force in "Tap Roots," which will be released in Hobait shortly.

There is violence, tenderness, and excitement in the Technicolor production. Van Heflin is reported to be convincing as a suave, renegade newspaper publisher; Susan Hay-ward gives an outstanding portrayal; and Boris Karloff is impressive as a Choctaw Indian.

The story, builds steadily in ex-citement and action, and battle scenes recorded on the film are said to be most realistic.
