The Zlebrated %untralto, who makes her first appearance in Perth at His Majesty's I Theatre on October 23, has the reputation of being the most versatile singer now before the public. Apart from being in the front rank of oratorio and ballad sing- I ers, she is the principal contralto of the Royal Opera, Covent Garden; Metropolitan Opera, New York, and the leading opera I houses'of Germnany. She was chosen by Monsieur Camille Saint Saens, the distin- ! guis~i- omposer of "Samson and Delilah," e to create the role of Delilah at Covent Garden for the first performance in Eng- / land of this great work. As the last three nights of the Anderson season at His Majesty's Theatre are announced, there can only be three more performances of the stirring drama, "The World Against Her," which was witnessed last night by an enthusiastic audience. The company leave by Saturday's express for the _oldfields. MELROSE THEATRE. West's and Brennan's management are presenting a first-class programme of vandeville at Melrose Theatre this week. The most popular turns are provided by Dan 'Llewellyn (the tramp tenor), Rudd and Clare (musical comedians) and the Bartz trio of acrobats and balancers. A new series of West's pictures will be screened to-night. SHAFTESBURY THEATRE. -There will be a change atfShaftesbury Theatre to-night, in addition to the current programme of vaudeville. King and Millard are to give a new sketch entitled "Brown's Pal." PICTURE SHOWS. A change of programme will be given at Queen's Hall to-night, the star film being a story of circus life entitled "His Last Perforniance." The biograph favourite, Maurice Costello, appears in a pathetic drama "When Roses Wither." Among the new pictures to'be shown by Spencer's, Ltd., at the Theatre Royal tonight, are a comedy entitled "Bunny as Pseudd Sultan" and "The Land Baron of San Tee." Included in a programme of new pictures to be shown at King's Hall, Murray-street, for a season commencing on Saturday next, is a drama founded on the wreck of the Dunbar at Sydney Heads in 1851. The film was taken by the Universal Film Co., of Sydney, and ran for three weeks in the New South Wales capital. To-night a new series of photo plays will be shown at West's Picture Palace, Subiaco, the films including "The End of the Trail" (a thrilling WeStern American drama), "The Marauders," "The Nipper's Lullaby," Pathe's Gazette, besides comedy and scenic items. This theatre is now under new management. "Defeat of the Brewery Gang"' and "Dulpin has Toothache" are feature films in the present programme at the Olympia Rink, Fremantle. TOWN HALL, PREMANTLE. The directors of Vie's Pictures will tonight present a new programme of variety items and pictures at the Town Hall, Fremantle. A talented and versatile company of Jack Tars will givye several items illuhistrative of life on a battleship. Phillips and Merritt will introduce new songs and dances in their sketch "Come Into the Kitchen." THE WAIFS' HOME. On Saturday, October 26, at St. George Hall, Miss Hilda Temple's pupils will give an elocutionary and dramatic recital in aid of the Waifs' Home, Parkerville.
