A PRINCE OF TONGA, -EN ROUTE TO THE CORONATION. INTERVIEWED AT FREMANTLE. Travelling to London by the R.M.S. Otranto, which reached Fremantle yesterday, is Prince Tuigi of Tonga,.who is to rePresent hjs uncle, King George Tobu II.. ruler of the Tongan Islands. at the Coronation of King George. Prince Tuigi, who is very reserved; was accompanied as far as Auckland. in New Zealand, by his uncle, who wished him farewell at that port. lie was educated at Newington Methodist College. in Sydne~, and has learned to take a deets interest m Australian political and general affairs. His father is Premier and Minister for Lands in the Government of Tonga; and failing male issue to the present King. Prince Tuigi is heir-apparent to the Tongan throne. When spoken to by a "West Australian" reporter on board the Otranto, Prince Tuigi said that he looked forward with very great pleasure to his visit to London. He had the honour to be commissioned to represent his uncle, the King of Tonga, at the Coronation of His Majesty King George. He felt sure the visit to London would do much to broaden his mind and help him to appreciate the work which lay. before him in Tonga. If it fell to his lot to reign in Tonga he felt that this glimpse of Great Britain's power would help him to appre, dcate properly the-suzerainty of the British nation. So far as Tongan affairs were concerned the commercial outlook was exceedingly satisfactory.Accompanying Accompanying the Prince is the Rev. W. G. Taylor, founder and superintendent of the Central. Methodist Mission n dvdney. which is the largest institution of its kind in the world. Together with Prince Tuid Mr. Taylor will proceed to Toronto, Canada after the Coronation, and attend the MeThodist Ecumenical Conference, which is held every 10 years.
