Players "Without

Country"

T ONDON, Wed.-Two Polish

born players, C. Sphychalla and I. Tloczynski, discovered when they arrived at Wimble-don yesterday that the name cf their country had been deleted from the programme. The ab-breviation "P." appeared after their names in Monday's pro-gramme, but today there were

blanks.

A Wimbledon "official said this was, done as a result of repre-sentations "from Warsaw," but refused further explanation. Sphychalla said: "As members of Gen Anders' Second Corps which fought' in Italy, I suppose

wc ,can be classed as men with- ~ out a country."
