"KHAKI KAPERS"

REVUE AT THEATRE

ROYAL

An outstanding number of "Khaki Kapers," a musicale revue which open-ed at the Theatre Royal, Hobart, last night for a season of one week, was the sketch "An Airman's Letter," given by Don Sharp. The flag featured in the sketch had flown over the Air Force station at Singapore, was auto-graphed by many members of the RAAF, and was brought to Tasmania by Don Sharp.

The revue, which was presented by Keith Jarvis and produced by George Ward, was free last night to men and women in uniform. Of the comedy sketches "A Sultan's Palace" was a bright presentation with George Ward as the Sultan. The dancing highlight of the programme was the scena "A Day

in Spain," featuring Lucille Baker and Peter Crawcroft. Comedy, interludes were provided by Keith Jarvis and George Ward, principal comedians of the show.

Nine-year-old, Arthur McGuinness was enthusiastically applauded in his group of popular songs. The ballet, with June Staff as vocal soloist, pro-vided many bright interludes. "Min-trelsy Meandering" was presented by the girls of the company, and Meg Thurston and Lucille Baker appeared with the ballet in the double "I Dare You." Others, who contributed to the programme were Lucy Perkins, Paddy Fazackerley, Dorothy Carty, Bill Smith, Pat Harrison, Sid Mccormack, and Nancy Smith, a soprano.
