Killed

The Air Board in a state-ment yesterday announced the death of Flying Officer B. G. Jones, formerly of Ho-bart, in an aircraft accident at No. 7 Elementary Flying Training School, Western Junction.

The Air Board report stated that two aeroplanes collided as they were leaving the aerodrome on training flights. Flying Officer Jones had as his passenger Load-ing Aircraftman D. S. Brown, of Mel-bourne, who fractured an arm. Leading Aircraftman Brown's condition is satis-factory.

Flying Officer Jones, a son of Lady Jones and the late Sir Henry Jones, was aged 35 years, and was married with one child. He was the first flying member of the the Tasmanian Aero Club ; n<i r-, '.- t flying member. He . . i - n f "g

with Capt J Francis. He was a par-ticularly live member in furthering the activities of the club in the South, and was the first secretary of the Southern section, and later its chairman. His other sporting interests included rowing, motor-cycling, and gliding.

He was a partner in the Hobart legal firm of Simmons, Wolfhagen, Simmons, and Walch.
