LACROSSE.

CLUB AT GLENELG.

A meeting of gentlemen interested in the formation of a lacrosse club at Glenelg was held in the local Town Hall on Thursday evening. Mr. H. B. Crosby presided over a good attendance. It was reported

that a large number of the Glenelg young men had signified their intention of taking up the Canadian game if a club were locally organised. After a little cursory discussion it wan resolved—"That a lacrosse club be formed to be called the Holdfast Bay Lacrosse Club." Mr. S. H. Hambridge was elected secretary pro tem., and it was decided to make application for admission into the S.A. Lacrosse Association. The colors were fixed as mid blue and white, with dark knickers. Messrs. B. Combe, A. Buchanan, F. Hambridge, C. Kither, and S. H. Hambridge were elected a provisional com-mittee to draft a set of rules for confirmation at a subsequent meeting. The election of honorary officers ensued, and Mr. W. L. Ware was chosen as patron, the mayor (Mr. R. Smith) president, and several vice-presidents. The meeting was adjourned for a fortnight.
