THE LATE MR. G. NEEDHAM.

At the ripe age of 89 Mr. G. Needham, B.A., has joined the great majority, his death occurring on Monday last. The deceased will be remembered by early colonists as a teacher

of classics at Mr. J. L. Young's well-known school. He was born at Templemichael, Ireland, and graduated at the Dublin University, where he was subsequently en-gaged as teacher. Arriving in the colony in 1849, he continued the practice of his profes-sion until 1870 when an attack of paralysis necessitated his abandoning school work; but he was engaged for some years afterwards as private tutor. He leaves two sons and two daughters —Messrs. H. M. Needham, of Broken Hill, and B. Needham, and Mesdames J. H. Trevorrow (Kapunda) and J. Partridge (New South Wales). The funeral took place on Wednesday morning at the West-terrace Cemetery. Among those standing round the grave were Mr. R. Needham (son). Rev. J. H. Trevorrow (son-in-law), Mrs. Trevorrow (daughter), and Messrs. J. Tasker, R. C. Miston, W. A. Cawthome, W. Hitchcox, W. R. Hounslow, R. Hounslow, W. Clarke, Saunderson, Captain Fergnsson, Rev. W.
