CLAREMONT STARTS WELL

East FresuBtle Defeated.

. Claremont and East Fremantle . provided a dean, fast) open game at Claremont on Saturday. For the first three Quartern tfas teams were even, and at

the final change-over the scores -were equal, but a strong flnWitng effort, by the home side enabled it to win by 17 points. Claremont included several hew players from other league clubs and elsewhere, and as the game progressed it became increasingly apparent that under the deputy captain, George Moloney, recently of Geelong, the team will be moulded into a formidable combination. G. Bee, formerly of East Fremantle, West Perth, and Swan Districts, was unable to take the field in the second half owing to a possible fracture of a bone In the right hand. East Fremantle selectors chose only two new recruits. ' Poor kicking for goal was the main factor in the visitors' defeat. Best players.— Claremont: Birmingham, G. Moloney, Boys, Hooper, Steward, Hopkins, Jones and Cook. East Fremantle: Truscott, Kingsbury, C. Doig, G. Doig and Jarvis.
