LONDON, Saturday.

For the first time in history " '"Britain has won four titles at y Wimbledon, equalling the Ameri-it' can record in 1930.

After winning the doubles title at Wimbledon this afternoon,

J Hughes and Tuckey were selected to represent Great Britain in the

Davis Cup chai enge round.

It was also officially announced

that Perry and Austin would play

in the singles.

Perry and Miss Round won the mixed doubles title from the holders, Budge and Mrs Fabyan, while Miss Jacobs was successful in the women's singles for the first time, although she has come

v- peted in the final on five occasions.

The men's doubles took five sets to determine, Wilde and the youthful Here making a great showing. They spiritedly took the second set, in which Wilde's fast service and Hare's extensive reach baffled their seniors, who were tagged in comparison with the youngsters.

When Hughes and Tuckey comfortably took the fourth set it seemed that they were on top, but in the final net Hare and Wilde led them 4-3 Tuckey and "Hughes pulled the match out, but it wants astonishingly good performance by Wilde and Hare for their first appearance in a match of such imp or tance.

Miss Jacobs reacted to her hard fight in the singles, and in the doubles she was partnered by Mrs Fabyan.
