BEAUMARIS ZOO.

At the meeting of the City Council last night the Reserves Committee re-ported that it had considered the five applications received for the position of curator of the Beaumaris Zoo, and sub-mitted the following two names in, order of preference, as being the must suit-able: Reid Arthur R.; Dove, H. Stuart. A ballot resulted in the appointment of Mr. Reid. Subsquently Alderman Breen moved: "That a call of the Coun-cil be made with a view that the reso-lution of January 16 last, with refer-ence to report B of the Reserves, Com-mittee be rescinded, so far as it relates to the Beaumaris Zoo at the old quarry, and that contingent on the above being carried, to move that the zoo be housed at Lambert-park." The committee was very much impressed with Lambert-park as a site for the zoo, and as the quarry had been decided on by a misunderstanding, he would move at the next meeting that the resolution be rescinded, as it was understood that the committee was to inspect other sites. The motion was adopted.
