been retired from racing

Tctratema is n grey colt, by The Tctrarch from Scotch Gift, and is 4 years old He is owned by Colonel McCalmont, and trained bj H Persee He had a brilliant career as a two-year-old, winning the five laces m which he start-ed. As a thrce-year-old ho started eight times for four victories, including the Two Thousand Guineas During this season he has met with manv successes in short distance races, and had come to be regal ded as the fastest sprinter in England. He very much resembles his sire, and gallops with the natural, machine-like action characteristic of that great horse He has been ridden in ¿11 his winning engagements by the Australian jockey Carslake It is prob-able that he will now go to the stud.
