Leading Coburg fol-lower Perc Mahoney and Aving man Brian McMahon are likely ab-sentees from the line-up against Port Melbourne in the main V.F.A. game on Saturday.

Mahoney left the field last round with a recurrence of a pulled thigh muscle, and McMahon has a jarred ankle.

Twelve other players were treated for minor injuries, but all will be fit.

Follower Ken Aitken has decided not to retire until the end of the season.

PORT MELBOURNE will be without defender Jack Metherall, who has pneu-monia, but star centre half-back Bob Kelsey will be back if his knee stands a severe test tomorrow.

Stan Tucker, brilliant winger who has been out for most of the season with a thigh injury, was best man on the ground with the seconds last week.

MOORABBIN captaincoach, Keith McKenzie, did not train with a bruised toe and rested half the team.

Only other injured players are Mick Beckwith (sprained ankle), and Jack Walsh ("cork" leg), but both should be fit by the week-

end.

OAKLEIGH is almost cer-tain to be without Ted Ryan, a strong centre halfforward, against Preston. Ryan fractured his cheek-bone against' Port two weeks

ago.

Carnival winger Gil Savory, with a recurrence of a shoulder injury, is doubt-

ful.

Only injured player at BOX HILL is follower Bob Street, still troubled with a sore ankle, but he has hopes of playing this round.

' Three PRAHRAN players - Ken Burns (arm injury), and Claude Plain and Dick Head (leg injuries) - did not train, but will be given solid tests tomorrow.

YARRAVILLE follower Noel Salt (knee injury) will not play this week and another follower, Gerry Berry ("cork" leg), is doubt-

ful.

A 11 WILLIAMSTOWN players are fit and trained solidly.

Brilliant PRESTON centreman Les Sweet and back pocket Bill Crocker were troubled with a thigh and wrist injury respectively, but should play against Oak-leigh on Saturday.

Hoy returns

Best news at SANDRING-HAM was the return of Len Hoy, centre half-forward ; Ron Mallett, wing half-for-ward; and Roy Ricca, rover, from National Service train-ing.

Roy Simmons, out for three weeks with an ankle injury, is available.

BRUNSWICK centreman Jack Edwards is still troubled with a knee injury, and will miss this round. Full forward Doug Hayes had six stitches inserted in a gash in his shin, and ap-pears certain to miss Satur-day's game.

Gordon Yea is over influ-enza, and available. Ron Young (food poisoning) and Pat Milburn (bad cold) did not train, but hope to be fit.

Alan Thynne, CAMBER-WELL wingman, has retired from Association football.

Len Marian, former centre half-forward, and rover Kevin Johnson shone with the seconds last match. Both may soon be with the seniors.

NORTHCOTE centre halfforward Graeme Powell, who figured in Monday's electri-cal tragedy, was still suffer-ing from shock last night, and did not train. He will play on Saturday.

Rover Keith Embleton, with a bruised ankle, is the only Injured player at BRIGHTON. He is expected to be fit by Saturday.
