CAMBERWELL snatched a thrilling one point victory over

Sandringham from a goal kicked after the bell, in their V.F.A. clash at Sandringham on Saturday.

Sandringham fullback, Guille, put the ball out of bounds from a kickoff in the time-on period.

The ball was not touched, and Camber-well winger Wally Cook was awarded a free kick,

The siren sounded as Cook was about to take his kick. His skimming 60-yard torpedo just cleared the pack to give Camberwell a "shock" one-point win.

1 Camberwell wore down 35 points at one stage of the last quarter, but the for-wards attacked persistently to wear Lbe Zebras down.

Port win

Inaccurate disposiil and a weak forward line cost Northcote the match against I'm t Melbourne.

Port combined better than Northcote, shining in the open rallier than in the

packs, bul neither team had unity.

Northcotes defence and sometimes Its right wing shattered most of Port's aggressive moves, and kept the scoring rate down.

Time off win

Yan avilie held off Preston during a torrid last quarter to take their third successive

win.

Persistent attacks by Pres-ton in the last term were hurled back by a strong Yarraville defence.

Fast non-stop football in the third quarter gave Yarraville a slight lead.

With time off being played, both teams battled for the lead. Mason clinched tlic game for Yarraville when he snapped a goal from the forward pocket.

Coburg down

Williamstown, playing with 17 men in the closing stages, outpaced Coburg by (JG points.

By opening up the game, Williamstown broke away from their slower opponents to win well in a vigorous

game.
