A 5ft. long live crocodile was brought back to Melbourne yesterday from the big - game hunting lodge at the Gulf of Carpentaria.

It was one of l8 "bagged" by the first party of crocodile

"shooters to go to the

lodge.

Three members brought it back as a gift for Mr. Rene Henri, president of the Australian Croco-dile Shooters' and Big Game Club.

Mr. Henri, who enjoys

hunting crocodiles, but

has no facilities for keeping them in his

home, promptly presen-

ted his gift to the Zoo, which was glad to get it.

The crocodile is six years old and weighs 641b. It was caught last Saturday.

The other 17 crocodiles caught by the expedition were killed and skinned.
