The sponsoring of a new metropolitan league by the Vic-torian Football League would keep many groups from leaving Australian Rules, Mr. Frank Trainor, president of the North Melbourne Football Club said last night.
He was speaking at the an-nual general meeting of the club.
The three divisions of League, Association, and Metropolitan would do much to keep the game going, he said.
Three new life-members were appointed at the meeting.
They were Jack McCorkell, i Mr. George Ravenhall, and Mr.
Jim Stack.
