H. Tonn Wins Bendigo

League Medal

HEINZ TONN, Castlemaine captain and coach, is

the winner of the Bendigo Football League trophy for the best and fairest player this season.

Last year, as a member of Golden Square club, Tonn won the umpires' vote for best and fairest and the RSL trophy in another best and fairest com-petition. Tonn played in the Victorian Football League with Fitzroy.

Vüin English, Sandhurst fol-lower, who finished second in the RSL voting, was second, only two votes behind Tonn.

Harry Hickey, captain-coach of

Rochester, has won the medal awarded by the RSL for best and fairest player in the Ben-digo League. Hickey, formerly of Footscray and an interstate player, took charge of Rochester this season. Under his guidance the team has performed remark-ably well and has a chance to carry off its first premiership in tlie Bendigo League. Rochester will meet Kyneton in the first semi-final on the Bendigo Upper
