# Ivor Mcivor, former Essendon player, has been appointed captain of Camberwell FC. Mcivor trans-ferred to Camberwell from Essendon without a clearance in 1946.

# By scoring 490 in its first innings West Indies gained a winning gi-ip on the Test match against England at Kingston. Weekes made 141. England, 263 behind on the first inn-ings, had scored 21 without loss at stumps in its second innings.
